Low-code, content-centric process automation with SEAL
Gartner is expecting significant growth in the market for technology that enables organizations to rapidly identify and automate as many business processes as possible.
By 2022, Gartner said the hyperautomation market will reach $596.6 billion, up from $481.6 billion in 2020 and a projected $532.4 billion this year.
The research firm expects process-agnostic software (tools like BPM – Business Process Management, RPA – Robotic Process Automation, LCAP – Low-Code Automation Platform and AI – Artificial Intelligence, that organizations can use them across multiple IT and business use cases) to be most in demand as key enablers of the hyperautomation trend.
„Through 2024, the drive toward hyperautomation will lead organizations to adopt at least three out of the 20 process-agonistic types of software that enable hyperautomation”, Gartner said.
In addition, technologies that automate document ingestion, document classification, optical character recognition, content extraction, e-signature tools, will be in high demand as organizations seek out ways to automate the digitalization and structuring of data and content.
By 2024, Gartner expects that organizations will be able to lower operational costs by 30% by combining hyper-automation technologies with redesigned operational processes.
“The shift towards hyper-automation will be a key factor enabling enterprises to achieve operational excellence, and subsequently cost savings, in a digital-first world,” said Cathy Tornbohm, research vice president at Gartner.
The convergence of intelligent process automation technologies and cloud computing, along with the need to process unstructured content, make the case for low-code content efficiency and automation across several industries, available on-demand, as a service.
A low-code/no-code BPM platforms should handle:
1. Workflow / process modelling;
2. Business Decisioning (aka business rules);
3. The user experience for the business participants (tasks and case management);
4. Integrations.
SEAL Process Automation (powered by jBPM) is an enterprise, content-centric, Intelligent Business Process Management (iBPM) platform. At its core is a high performance open-source business process engine based on jBPM with the flexibility and scalability to handle a wide variety of critical processes.
Ease of Process Definition Development & Deployment
Defining and adapting business processes is key to ensuring success in addressing the ever-changing business requirements. SEAL Intelligent Process Services provide a suite of user-friendly tools that make it easy to model, deploy and update critical business processes.
SEAL provides graphical tools with advanced and powerful process modelling features, to allow the process developers to define complex business processes. Point and click rules editors make easy to define rules and decision tables across processes.
The BPM engine has access to SEAL data model (process object metadata) in order to implement routing rules or automatic changes during process execution.

Metadata-based Business Rules
Streamlining business processes for customers and other stakeholders means defining smart rules, based on the business context (metadata).
Business rules provide a natural way to express the logic of decision-making. Often, within a business process, the rules can be very focused and need to be managed by business users. This is where SEAL provide a natural solution, focused on business users.

Powerful Task & Case Management (content and process integration)
Having the Content Services and Business Process Management capabilities as part of the same tooling (vs. requiring separate products) offers several advantages related with total costs (of ownership but also total cost of the business processes) and productivity / efficiency
SEAL Process Automation enables:
- Upload documents, pictures, videos and any other mobile content and automatically start new processes
- Manually start new processes and collaborate to resolve cases
- Create tasks, get notifications and check the status of open cases
- Users to access all information, tasks, and documents to quickly and efficiently complete key business processes
- Collaboration to complete tasks. Users can allocate tasks and subtasks to individuals, allowing users to address non-routine tasks
- Empower the mobile workforce. SEAL native iOS and Android apps help the mobile workers to run their tasks better than ever

Ready-made connectors and powerful APIs
With SEAL, content is transparently integrated with other leading enterprise applications such as SAP S/4HANA®, Salesforce®, Microsoft® SharePoint®, Microsoft® Office 365®, Microsoft® Teams® or any other process-driving software. With ready-made connectors, the SEAL bridges content silos and intelligently automates business processes to allow information to flow effortlessly across applications. SEAL, as a content-driven process automation platform, leverages an organization’s investment in its enterprise applications, while improving transparency and insight to improve decision making, automate business processes and expand the reach of governance policies.
In addition to the ready-made connectors, SEAL provides several APIs (REST, CMIS, Java EJB, WebDAV) to support various integration scenarios.
