The Romanian team supported by Star Storage Foundation participates in the Final of the International Environment & Scientific Project Olympiad (INESPO) 2013
Star Storage Foundation, through the “I Believe in Romania” program, support a group of Romanian Olympians to attend the grand finale the International Environment & Scientific Project Olympiad (INESPO) 2013 at Middelburg in the Netherlands. This Olympiad is open to students aged 13 to 18 years, at European level, being the largest Olympiad with international participation. At this year’s Edition of the International Environment & Scientific Project Olympiad (INESPO) from Middelburg in the Netherlands in the Netherlands 46 countries are competing in “green” scientific research projects in the field of sustainable development.
The Star Storage Foundation initiative to support the participation of the team that will represent Romania in the Grand Final of the INESPO is part of the “I Believe in Romania” program of the Foundation, which has the following objectives: changing mentality with regard to the support, promotion and development of Romanians; the discovery, appreciation, support, encouragement, promotion and development of exceptional Romanians; investing in valuable Romanians and opening opportunities for them.
The team that represents Romania in the Grand Final of the International Environment & Scientific Project Olympiad (INESPO) participated with a research project that was conducted over a period of one year, qualifying in the top 200 projects selected following an international selection. This team consists of the project authors Alexandru Glontaru and Stefan Iov – Olympic students in Class X of Tudor Vianu Computer National College, the project coordinator Mircea Ignat – ICPE-CA researcher and project supervisor Simona Vasilescu – Professor of Biology at the Tudor Vianu Informatics National College.
The project with which qualified students is called “The spider is changing the game in the adhesives industry” and is a research project of the adhesive content of garden spider’s web, the possibilities of its industrial production and about some possible practical applications.
The final take place from 2 to 6 June in the Netherlands in Middelburg, each team supporting the draft at a public exhibition and having their own presentation stand available.
