The project was conducted over a period of one year, and the students have investigated the adhesive content of garden spider’s web, several possible practical applications, including the possibilities of industrial production, in order to obtain a solution conducive to solving serious environmental problems.
These Olympics were supported through the “I believe in Romania” program of the Star Storage Foundation, which aims to support, promote and contribute to the development of valuable Romanians that they honor and change positive the perception of foreigners about Romanians.
“It is impressive what they made these Olympics and heartfelt congratulations! It is remarkable how these young Romanians fail to achieve exceptional performances at the international level and to bring Romania on the podium of prestigious competitions. Especially commendable is that these performances succeed in the conditions under which such important competitions participate young people who come from countries which allocated budgets and impressive scope to the education and research, and in addition, many non-governmental organizations actively supporting the actions of this kind and encourages excellence.
Performance obtained by these Olympics should be a model for all young people in Romania who need to be aware that if they really want to achieve such outstanding results, they should not leave discouraged by anything.
We designed the “I believe in Romania” program because we want and believe in a better future for Romania, because we believe in young people and we believe that it is our duty and all Romanians to contribute to the country’s development by supporting and encouraging true values, which constitute exceptional representative models of exceptional Romanians for all young people.” said Catalin Paunescu President of Star Storage Foundation & Managing Director Star Storage.
“We are very happy because we won a prize so important and we brought Romania where it belongs, namely on the podium. Thanks Star Storage Foundationfor their support, without which we would not be able to participate in this competition.
We are honored that we won the silver medal at INESPO 2013 and we are proud of what we accomplished. Our project is in the first phase of research and getting this award motivates us to continue our study and we are confident that we will achieve great things.”, said the team members winning the silver medal in the category of Environmental and Biology at the International Environment & Scientific Projects Olympiad (INESPO) 2013.
